Gisella Isidori 30-year veteran in food import/export, development and placement of food products, food consultant and Andrea Sertoli, award winning travel expert and owner of Select Italy international travel agency specialized in Italy will lead a selected group of Italian producers of regional specialties, organic agriculture artisans and food designers and introduce them to the press and buyers at the International 52nd Summer Fancy Food Show on July 9-11 2006 at the Javits Center in New York City.

EDUCATIONAL SEMINAR: As part of the seminars arranged during Fancy Food 2006, the Italian group will offer an educational seminar on Monday July 10 at the JJC Center theater room ID05-IDO6 meeting on the mezzanine level.

FOOD AUTHENTICITY - THE NEW FRONTIER: The seminar addresses the increasing request in the US market for authentic and genuine regional products from Italy. This growing attention to local traditions will be complemented with information on methods to identify, cook and purchase traditional and contemporary food specialties, following the inspiration of the pure, simple and artistic Italian cuisine: una cucina pura, semplice ed artistica e tutta all'italiana! In addition, the theme of the new trends in food combinations will be treated with specific guidelines on how to use, mix and match Italian products with other ethnic foods to create attractive food fusions. How about a Kiwi pate' from Latium, to accompany a baby lobster from Maine.....Or a reduced balsamic vinegar from Emilia to flavor a steak, or a strawberry dessert, or sip an Oregon produced Italian soda-fruit spritzer in a designer-made ice glass. What a fusion!

Romano's Italian Soda Company is a young business and brand developed out of a third generation Oregon based family beverage business. Ken Pastega created the flavors and brand to maintain the flavorful tradition of Italian Sodas, making them accessible to everyone in bottled form. The products are named after his grandfather Romano who came to the US from the old country, years ago. Romano's was first available in the marketplace in the fountain of a 7-Eleven partner in Medford. Distribution has expanded out through independent Pepsi bottlers in Medford, Corvallis, Tillamook, Newport, Coos Bay, Eugene, Bend, Pendleton, Roseburg, Oregon as well as Vancouver, Washington and Lewiston, Idaho..and the famiglia is growing.
